by Casey, LongLiveRock, Ravishing Jane, and Fiddler
Boy, I'll bet Casey's pissed. I am. I think Ravishing Jane and I did fine with what LongLiveRock gave us to work with But LongLiveRock did not rock on his/her maiden voyage to corpse land.
Please Hailey-Shannon-LongLiveRock, read the rules, expecially about Fresh Princes. The only thing you retained was the color scheme.
Cool beginning Casey. And wonderful handling of something indecipherable Ravishing Jane.

total agreement here Fiddler, your piece and RJ's actually seem to have a Norse God feel tho which must be the group Psyche at work, Odin must be getting prepared to smite LLR....

I agree - the first slice is awesome. Would have been cool to see how Odin (I assume from the eyepatch/Viking/Wild Hunt) turned out. Also, the title to this one is pretty awesome.
LongLiveRock - First-time submissions are always tricky - We love you and keep playing! I can see that you started with the slice you were given, but then altered it until it didn't follow Casey's panel at all. It's a good idea to refer to the slice you got as you create your panel and stay true to it. What I always do is, I place the slice I got on its own layer, and lock it. Then I work only on layers below it. That way you can always tell if what you're creating is going to match up with the previous panel.

Did I actually type "expecially" What a loser.

Give me a break, it was my first one!
LongLiveRock at October 24, 2007 10:54 AM
Alright, LLRock, I don't want to scare you away. As dagfooyo so graciously said, "We love you and keep playing!"
But do read about Fresh Princes. They always end up creating disappointments for the remaining players because a huge part of the fun is finding out how your piece works with everyone else's. When a Fresh Prince comes along (a slice that is wholly divorced from the rest of the slices), it creates a disconnect. In this case RJanes and my pieces flow from yours, but have nothing to do (other than color scheme) with Casey's.
So I'll cut you some slack. I don't want to scare you off as I said. Just work on continuing the piece you're given.

Personally I think crying, it's my first one, isn't good enough. It's obvious what the name of the game is if you take a little time to work it out.
This corspe could of been so beautiful. The other players did a legendary job, and they must be very disapointed.

LongLiveRock I checked out your deviant art page gallery and I liked the whimsical drawings on that. I am anxious to see what your contributions to future exquisite corpses will be like.
I hope you do stick around now knowing now what continuation expectations are, and how to avoid the "fresh prince"

Personally, and at the risk of pissing off the creator of this site, I have to place part of the blame at the feet of Phineas, who could have stopped the "freshing" of this corpse in its tracks. If LLR had been sent a gentle reminder to read the rules and resubmit another panel, then the above would not look like it does.
We still love you, too, Phineas. But you made the rules. If you're not going to enforce them, then who will. Otherwise, this sort of thing occurs and people are ticked.

I dont think LongLiveRock is to be given too much blame. Of course, it could have been better.
But following upon what Casey created in the first slice.. I got this one too and passed it on due to lack of time to continue on it properly. Because damn, that was a hard strip to continue from.. I could tell there were trees and something of a beard like thing, but the level of detail is really hard to continue with.
I mean, mad props to what you created, but keep in mind that not everyone is a photoshop expert. I have done it myself a lot (and sometimes I still do)
Check corpse 538 what can happen with difficult end strips....
just my 2 cents

All I can say is you should have seen the FP I *didn't* post.
Phineas at October 25, 2007 1:39 PM
Phineas - I imagine that happens more than we are aware. By the way, was it #879 that got FP'd? I saw that the player lineup changed mid-stream.
jakedrews at October 25, 2007 2:12 PM
I think 879 was my foo...my first, I thought I had it, I didn't. My apologies to the 879 participants.
Wishfarmer at October 26, 2007 4:21 PM
879's not done yet Wishfarmer. You saying you got piece 4 and bagged? It's cool. Looks like a challenge. I don't see your name under "Who." Who are you?
