I've seen a lot of Corpses and they rarely make me say 'holy crap' anymore. But: holy crap.

We have a winner. And possibly a Department of Homeland Security poster.

That's just damned amazing. Wonderful cohesiveness, and tons of creativity throughout. Not to mention a whole lot of dark humour. I love it!

If I understand the plan, either we get the skull, or we'll have to blow up the whole head.

It's always nice to see a phage. Reminds me of a tip: if you are ever stuck for collage material, check out the CDC's image library. I did for this corpse.

Madwise at June 15, 2007 7:50 AM

I love it; the Star of David turns into the biohazard symbol, the Muslim Star and Cresent turns into the nuke symbol and the Cross turns into a skull. This corpse was destined for Armageddon in the first panel. Strange Love indeed.

Fiddler at June 15, 2007 7:53 AM

Compositionally speaking this isn't the strongest corpse ever, but conceptually, holy crap indeed! I guess that sickly green color brings out the apocalyptic in all of us.

(Honestly all I was doing was trying to make a pun on "bee", because the honeycomb pattern made me certain there'd be lots of bees above. So plan B. Ha ha ha ha. I'm a laff riot, I am. Then I actually needed something to be plan B, so I lifted the exploding head from a zero-budget movie I'm working on (you can see a bit of it at the end of the trailer if you're curious.) Pure luck that it matched so well with XmasterIV's skull. Pure luck -- or eerie, eerie synchronicity.)

"eerie, eerie synchronicity" great title for something...

Mudhooks at June 15, 2007 11:26 AM

Outstanding corpse! Great job all. Especially great for XmasterIV, first-timer!

jakedrews at June 15, 2007 1:02 PM

Wow... my favorite!

The only thing that I can possibly say that is at all negative about this corpse is the tiny seam between the first two... but then again, I have only done one so far, and it hasn't even been published.

Once again, nice job, an excellent corpse, I absolutely love it.

Rybin at June 15, 2007 1:11 PM

fuckin' A, man.

benny at June 15, 2007 3:22 PM

The only way that this could have been better is besides plans A and B it had also included Plan R. That would have been so far out the EC servers would have exploded impaling all of us with glass fragments in our eyes.

For those who need some explanations. The first guy pictured is J. Robert Oppenheimer, "The Father of the Bomb" which is of course the middle picture. The 3 picture is Peter Sellers as Dr. Strangelove. It was in the movie Dr. Strangelove that a rogue general in order to protect out "precious bodily fluids" launches a nuclear attack against the USSR. The name of the orders for that attack are Plan R.

NirvanaBlues panel title was quoted by J. Robert Oppenheimer at the first successful atomic tests at Trinity. The quote comes from the a upanishad or veda from the Hindu religion and refers to Shiva, the destroyer or shatterer of worlds. By the way, Nirvana is a Hindu/Buddhist concept too.

As a personal note, the hives remind me of bee society which is highly hierarchical as is that of ants of which I am reminded of a late 70's movie called Phase IV and lo and behold xmasterIV is an IV too. Ok, maybe I was reaching on that one.

Okay S&Z, armageddon it.
