Omigosh! That's awesome! Love those sock monkeys!

How fitting that a corpse I worked on "opened" today! (It's my birthday!!!)
This turned out pretty good. Such a bit of a line between obiggie's and my piece. *sigh* Thought I got it better than that.
Angieelz at May 9, 2007 6:41 AM
Happy birthday, Ang! I hereby suggest that we go out drinking tomorrow night to celebrate our birthday. Oh wait, we're already doing that. :)
I love how this one came together. And the bits of lines between some of them? Well, honestly, not that big of a deal. It's a very fluid piece overall and I am seeing definite improvement on corpsing in general. Jessica's finish was pretty cool, though it looks like she may have been in the wrong color mode, but I still like the imagery of it. Great job, guys!
I guess now we know what happens when we let sock monkeys drive...
Fiera at May 9, 2007 6:48 AM
I had a sock monkey when I was little.... My friend threw it in the creek and he floated away. Sighhhhh....
I love the conjoined twins....
Perhaps the sock monkeys weren't driving. Perhaps they were jumping out of the airplane.

hooray! been waiting for this one forever! angieelz, your line is no worse than mine. i keep working at it, but still it's there, haunting me. i'm glad my monkeez made it all the way to the end. fun!

Stellar.
I blame all the effing beige for the seaminess.
That's got to be the first time "beige" and "seamy" have been posited as closely related, at least in a family publication such as this. I'm gonna go wash my hands now.
Jessica at May 9, 2007 10:11 AM
Fiera - Except in cases of factory-fresh princitude, color mode is determined by the received slice. For someone to have "been in the wrong color mode" would have meant a whole lot of extra labor while constructing their panel. Why work in [what mode were you thinking?] when you're opening in and saving as RGB?
Constructing said panel in a test version of a certain popular if not-as-good-as-when-one's-husband-was-its-designer graphics production suite, on a wee laptop monitor, without recalibrating same, probably had something to do with it.
I still blame beige, tho, even if it's not directly at fault here.
That dratted color has plenty to attone for.
Jessica at May 9, 2007 10:35 AM
I'm in agreement with Jessica.
Beige...and Lithuanians. They'll get you every time.
Miroje at May 9, 2007 10:46 AM
I once saw a two-car, 13-monkey pileup, and it looked almost exactly like this.
amyc at May 9, 2007 1:10 PM
Jessica - I believe you. I've had color problems that resulted from working and viewing on variously calibrated monitors.
That said, there have been those here who worked in the wrong color mode. I think that rather than opening the recieved slice, resizing and "saving as", they open a new 450x215 (in whatever default color mode their computer/app is in) and then paste in the recieved panel. That'll cause it to shift colors right there on the spot, and the work done will not match the original unshifted slice.
Probably extra labor, as you said, but people do all kinds of mysterious things around here...

Someone needs to point out that this has a great title: He thought of, and Gerald said, "sock monkey explosion was there"

Shae: Thank you for consistently and constructively posting the technical and tactical.
It's a good reminder (or a good primer depending on who you are), and more times than not when there's been a problem with one of my own panels; your input has always produced the, "Oh yeah...I forgot about that." Well, except with more expletives.

Bah! "Beige...and Lithuanians". When will people learn that the toasters are to blame. Oh, yes.... they look harmless but think about it! There they sit, silently, on every counter in the world (well, except in homes with no counters), biding their time. Oh, yes.... they have their plans. They start small.... burning our bagels.... singeing our raisin toast.... and then WHAM! their plot comes to fruition and THEN where will we be!????

*puts "toasters" on the list...*
