the blocks of color in the first panel seems like avoiding a smooth blending. If they were more like windows it would be more interesting.

I didn't want a smooth feel in my panel...I really didn't want a smooth corpse over all, but people had other plans. I think solid squares are just as lovely as blending things in and can say just as much as a smooth picture. Making it windows would have taken away from the modern feel I was going for and would have made is more rusic which wasn't me aim.

I think my eyes and brain have a hard time in general with squares (or rectangles even) of things in pieces. I guess I just have a hard time understanding it or something.
