I'm sorry to all of you who tried...but really, the six corpses on the front page this week are some of the ugliest pictures I've ever seen. This one being the cherry on top.
Come on people.
Are your senses of aesthetics based on just throwing random chuds against the wall and seeing what sticks? From the looks of these, yes.

benny at March 9, 2007 5:31 PM
dang... those are some harsh words... there hasnt been a corpse lately that ive totally loved but... theyve been ok...
hex at March 9, 2007 5:56 PM
"Hate Me Anyway," if I had to guess, I'd say you're a fellow Corpser using a different name to disparage the work of others, because you know your own work couldn't stand up to the same scrutiny. The very fact that you hide behind a pseudonym proves it. You're probably just an average or even sub-par Corpser yourself; you already know you aren't qualified to make such haughty judgements. You try to attack flaws in the work of others, but by doing it from the comfort of the shadows, you reveal the flaws in your own work. Sure, your pseudonym prevented us from knowing specifically which corpses you've worked on, but your immaturity speaks volumes about the quality of your Corpse slices, how they've been received in the AEC community, and how you yourself feel about them. No one is going to take advice from you -- and you know it, don't you? Otherwise, you'd be fostering discussion and offering respectful criticisms under your own name, instead of cowering behind an anonymous mask of transparent arrogance. My advice: don't waste any more energy cluttering our message boards with testaments to your insecurity. You could be directing that energy towards improving your Corpsing. We both know you need the practice.
As to the Corpse: maybe it's not the prettiest or anything, but it's certainly interesting. Too many Corpses are beautifully balanced and blended, while containing absolutely no ideas to look at. This is not one of those, and for that I say, well done!

HMA: I'd like to see some more CONSTRUCTIVE criticism....
jakedrews at March 9, 2007 9:53 PM
Hm. Well, in my humble opinion, just because you don't want to make enemies doesn't mean you're necessarily a bad corpser. That said, it may not have been the most constructive criticism.
Shae at March 9, 2007 11:13 PM
Actually you're missing the point, Shae, I think what Freddy's saying is: if HMA was any good, then Why does he need to be such a dick in the first place? It's a common psychological theory, the fact that needing to insult and hurt people stems from insecurity.
layerzon at March 10, 2007 12:03 AM
Oh, and I think this corpse is OK. The zebras are funny!
layerzon at March 10, 2007 12:04 AM
Nah, I didn't miss the point. I just didn't agree with it.
Shae at March 10, 2007 6:28 PM
I like the bottom slice a lot
Tree-Rabbit at March 11, 2007 3:18 PM
I like this whole darn thing. I actually thought HMA was writing tongue in cheek to begin with. Some people's children...
Fiddler at March 11, 2007 5:42 PM
i actually love it. but hey, we are all different and all have different tastes.
krazykaz at March 12, 2007 9:31 AM
Personally, I find the "Finding sex fantasy" and the zebras a bit disturbing, but HMA is out of line.
docilebob at March 12, 2007 12:33 PM
Tree-rabbit: excellent blending.
kookyknut at March 12, 2007 5:24 PM
Thanks :)
Tree-Rabbit at March 12, 2007 5:26 PM
I think the best corpses are the ones that have the most random unbalanced stuff, and when they're ugly, i mean they're not called corpses because they're beautiful. I like this one alot, because of the absurdity of the connections. I haven't done many corpses yet myself, but if i had to pic a favourite that i've seen so far, it'd be the one with Will Smith in it.
pinkeyecandyapple at March 12, 2007 10:54 PM
To Tree-rabbit: thanks for the compliment
amazingly we both used gold fish in our work

love the sexy zebras smelling butts...and the high heels they are wearing! a coincidence: a cherry reference right near a penis? love the perspective created by the two bodies of water.
i would love to see the smokey-the-bear-hot-air-baloon in person
