Wow. Somebody call McDonald's, because "I'm lovin' it"©. Each section is just awesome, I'm particularly fond of I.C.E. Motion's section, nice guernica ballon and Joker Doodie. Could I even go so far to say this is David Lynchian? Under the same sky as beutiful palm trees is a seady underworld of Andy Kaufman and Batman. DAMNIT I LOVE EXQUITIE CORPSE!

Benny, are you any relation to lilah?

damselfly at November 19, 2006 11:05 AM

damsel: i'm to take that as an insult? I realise that my panel is simple but I did spend a long time on it. In fact I made a whole other panel for this corpse which I scrapped because i found it too busy. I meant my panel to create a transition.
I agree that it didn't come off too well, but at least (unlike with lilah...sorry lilah!) it doesn't have a seam. in my defense... link
i worked on 0607 as well but it's not up yet.

benny at November 19, 2006 1:54 PM

p.s. nice work everyone!

benny at November 19, 2006 1:57 PM

yeah, sometimes you just gotta pull that accordian. i'm guilty too. but benny's link proves e's a legit corpser, if just a little lazy this time.

moonroof at November 19, 2006 3:36 PM

And seeing as benny is relatively new to this I can imagine him wanting to submit a slice instead of rejecting it and then have to wait for a new one. And if you wasted too much time on something that didnt work (and I ditch ideas all the time) you gotta pull up something.

Btw isnt it kinda bizarre that benny has two corpses published and on both of them I was involved.. I didnt work on 607 did I?

I.c.e Motion at November 19, 2006 5:51 PM

yea i noticed that too ice. but no, you're not on 607 i don't think. thanks, both of you.

benny at November 19, 2006 8:19 PM

Ben, I just do not agree with Moonroof. I think that your panel pulls it all together. There is depth and interest in the shading and wisps. If you took your panel, I.C.E. and BCX, it would make a square, and I would put my book title or group name across the top of your panel, in an interesting color, and it would be a winner. The three of you really clicked. Kustos' panel is interesting and very well done, but doesn't seem to fit with the lower three.

Oh, and BCX, Andy works well here graphically speaking. He really fits the theme of ICE's characters, color and layout. You two work well together in an untogether way. Very intuitive of you, with the cartoon, puppetry characters mirroring Howdy Doody and The Joker.

Wow, the more I look at this one, the more I see, and the more I love it.

Dorian...

It would seem that if "Kustos' panel is interesting and very well done, but doesn't seem to fit with the lower three", then it's the panel *following* Kustos' that "doesn't fit", not the others.

Kusto can't very well take cues from those who play *after* him/her.

I'm not horribly opinionated on the "accordian" technique. On the one hand, I think it's a bit of a cop-out. On the other hand, it IS a blend, and a design, and it's a thing that newbies can't know that others are tired of seeing. There are worse offenses.

But to say that that panel "pulls it all together" and then to remark that the first panel doesn't fit with it doesn't really make sense. The second panelists' job is to follow the first, not start over.

Shae at November 27, 2006 7:40 AM

as much as i'm tired of discussing this, and am also increasingly willing to acknowledge it as a cop out, though I didn't mean for it to be, I do have to point out that I did a ot more than just accordion it. Otherwise, the palette would be much more similar in panels 1 and 3, wouldn't it? I'm not sure that wouldn't be better, but all the same.
p.s. I agree with everything else that Shae just said, unless Kustos is capable of time travel.
p.p.s. I love you.
