Nice job, everybody. Excellent first timer, JohhnyAmbush! This corpse reminds me of a certain Rodin sculpture...

I think the color blend is fantastic!

Jim Drews at May 13, 2006 9:22 AM

I'm pretty sure this is a representation of some level of hell.

love the way the stone look continues throughout.

Quackling at May 13, 2006 2:34 PM

Are those 10-sided dice? Maybe its the level of hell for people who cheat at role playing games.

moonroof at May 13, 2006 5:43 PM

I really like doctormatt's panel... amazing! =)

Crucibelle at May 13, 2006 10:25 PM

Well, yes, I've had delusional, declining nights like this; but not typically on Tuesday...

FogBaron at May 14, 2006 10:06 AM

Second thought: I just caught the strong Mother's Day theme in first two slices. Yipes.

(Or are those the three faces of Eve?)

And exactly what kind of (d)evolution is going on in doctormatt's slice?

Great corpse, any way you slice it.

FogBaron at May 14, 2006 10:10 AM

this is an awesome corpse, i think its probably one of my favorites! you guys are completely twisted..(in a good way!) has anyone here read wizard and glass buy stephen king? its one of the gunslinger novels. but anyway, some of these remind me of the pictures in there. well anyway, my favorite part of this corpse is probably the first two panels, i like the way the masks stretch into the statue. it looks sorta.. ghostish. pretty frickin sweet. it reminds me of either an exorcism, or maybe astral travel of the damned. well anyway, i think this was a great corpse in all.

Erishkigal at May 14, 2006 10:43 AM

I got the idea for my panel from a painting I saw in a movie (can't remember the name of it - will try to find out later). I tried to re-create what I saw, but it ended up turning out a bit different. The faces on the painting were more ghostly and in-a-cloud-of-smoke type of thing. My version is ok, I guess.

Crucibelle at May 14, 2006 10:45 AM

Erishkigal,

Thanks. "Ghostish" is what I was trying to go for.. heheh. =)

Crucibelle at May 14, 2006 10:48 AM

Erishkigal -- I have read the gunslinger series, some of my favorite fiction, actually. The art varies from book to book, and I don't remember which was in Wizard and Glass, but I agree that this has a similar feel to something I remember seeing in one of the books.

moonroof at May 14, 2006 7:26 PM

I found it - the movie I was talking about is called "House of 9".

Crucibelle at May 14, 2006 10:27 PM

Fantastic title. Powerful start, there, Crucibelle! And fantastic echoing of the sentiment, doctormatt.

Jessica at May 15, 2006 12:33 AM

... anybody else think of this?.

jakedrews at May 15, 2006 8:22 PM

I'm glad my piece worked okay. I was toying with the idea of a putting a bright yellow flower in the lower left of my panel. I guess I'm glad I opted not to include that...

Nice work, everyone.

doctormatt at May 16, 2006 12:59 AM

Absolutely gorgeous. Dante-esque piece with severe Shadowlands syndrome. Superb art!

Bailey at May 16, 2006 3:05 AM

This was fun. I'm glad it worked so well. I'm looking forward to the next collaberation.

An Exquisite Corpse is a collaborative experiment in the creation of visual art through the tapping of the collective unconscious...
