Awesome colours! I really like this one. Well done all...

WoW!!!! Like inside Volcano World!!

I love the firey theme here, esp. how mattb picks up on Zoinkers' colors from top. Slinkachu did a wonderful job finishing off my planet. It's beautiful, yet apocalyptic, if I'm reading matt's slice right.

Ann at May 26, 2006 8:06 AM

OK, this one rocks! Top to bottom, consistently excellent! Went right to my screen saver set.

Thank you all.

FogBaron at May 26, 2006 8:32 AM

Excellent subtle start by Zoinkers. Gorgeous work by Ann (as always) and slinkachu. Great job!

I like this one a lot, but I think my finishing slice is a bit ham-fisted. I wish now that I had defaulted to my usual space scene mentality. Alas.

mattb at May 26, 2006 8:38 AM

I can't get enough of Space Scenes and Mandelbrot Sets! Love this one.

Hey, that's the towering gas and dust pillar known as the Cone Nebula in the constellation Monoceros! It's lovely there this time of year.

Ctrl-Alt-Delvis at May 26, 2006 8:58 AM

Oooh, I just figured out the Bacon reference...right above my planet in Zoinker's slice.

Ann at May 26, 2006 9:10 AM

Wow, this works so well! My favorite corpse that i've been involved in so far! it was great to have a slice from ann that in a way was easy to continue (i knew it was a planet for instance) but that still had some interesting features to carry on through the corpse (the white and red lines). Sometimes it is hard to resist making a piece completely your own and ignoring or tying up very quickly what you've been given. Personally i prefer really sticking to what i've been given as you know the results will show real continuity, as this one does. So i was really happy that mattb carried on my little stars and the lines that came from ann's piece. The whole corpse really works as a whole. i love it!

slinkachu at May 26, 2006 9:27 AM

ohhhhhh my goodness. i am in love with this corpse. this is what it's all about.

velocity girl at May 26, 2006 9:54 AM

The best in a long while. Really gorgeous. Bravo!

Squares, circles, and stars,
Venus, and Mars!

Ctrl-Alt-Delvis at May 26, 2006 10:07 AM

mattb,

I don't know what you mean by ham-fisted, but I think your slice is just perfect! =)

Crucibelle at May 26, 2006 11:11 AM

mattb, I liked the way your slice rounded out the piece. I thought it echoed my 'burnt' opener nicely.

Ann, I wouldn't normally give away my sources, but I think it's really interesting you went with an astronomical theme. You wouldn't be able to tell now, but my original image was also astronomical - I'm not sure, but I think it was an image from the Chandra X-Ray observatory. It only mutated into the Bacon theme later. I also like how the pope's peeking above the planet.

slinkachu, nice continuation of the nebula, absolutely seamless.

Zoinkers at May 26, 2006 11:33 AM

Superb! Set the controls for the heart of the ... bacon.

Sein und Zeit at May 26, 2006 12:00 PM

I don't usually post, but... wow! What an amazing corpse!

crazy_raccoon at May 26, 2006 5:03 PM

Cool! love the creepy, ghostly face visible in the top slice -- and then if you look amongst the flames in mattb's slice there's also a kind of face, but alien -or disfigured perhaps... the ghost in the corpse?

Maria P at May 26, 2006 5:15 PM

Wow- this one is really striking! Thanks for pointing out the face, I would've missed that. You're right, it is creepy! Lovely...

Carrie at May 26, 2006 5:32 PM

This is amazing.

shell5058 at May 26, 2006 7:08 PM

That is definitely one of the most visually stunning corpses ever. Just beautiful.

dagfooyo at May 26, 2006 7:25 PM

Gooorgeous :)

coal2k at May 27, 2006 3:13 AM

Stunning---love the combo of old and new--- Bacon and Mandelbrot--wondrous!

arlee at May 27, 2006 11:33 AM

wow - what a way to make war and burning death look beautiful!

Quackling at May 27, 2006 12:35 PM

This is my new favorite epithet: you are so full of into the fire!
Nice work. This is something of an all-star team, though, isn't it.

Jessica at May 31, 2006 11:22 AM

Beautiful and enigmatic- what corpses should be.
Well done you guys!
