bill porter,

your panel is awesome! =)

Crucibelle at April 9, 2006 12:23 PM

Why the seam, maggie?

moonroof at April 9, 2006 1:04 PM

Goya's Saturn thrown up by Steve-o! Tee Hee! I love it.

droozle at April 9, 2006 3:39 PM

Great flow on the last segments... Matt, my condolences that your lead was disregarded... that always sucks.

Shae at April 9, 2006 3:55 PM

All I can say is: muscle swastika.

doctormatt at April 9, 2006 4:23 PM

hmmm......

Wild........ at April 9, 2006 7:01 PM

Nice, weird painterly beginning slice.
Maggie should be ashamed of herself.
It has been said this is just a game, but without rules and respect,
there is no point, is there?
Next two - smooth and interesting... sorry number 2 wrecked it for the rest.

AndyFromJava at April 9, 2006 7:59 PM

I didn't have very high hopes for this one anyways :) What a dreadful leading slice... I'd hate to follow that junk as well.

Good job fellow corpsers. You can't make mountains out of molehills.

mattb at April 9, 2006 8:27 PM

awww maggie,
tough break on your first corpse. try it again...

aberling at April 9, 2006 10:27 PM

btw...cool muscle panel bill p. i also like the lightning transition, yg. maggie, your panel is very interesting on it's own, but folks are here to play together.

aberling at April 9, 2006 10:31 PM

hey let me smooth out aberling's rather harsh comment, but s/he is right. Then again, this is your first corpse.... hope you do better next time.

Zounds Padang at April 10, 2006 7:35 AM

aw i like your first panel very much mattb. too bad that maggie had a seam but i'm sure it was just beginners corpse syndrome.

yistergirl at April 10, 2006 8:35 AM

ummm...huh?

my comment was harsh? did you read the comments before mine?

i was *at least* pointing out that it was her first time, and that her/his artwork is cool - since folks above were saying things like "be ashamed" and "condolences to matt" i thought my comments were rather conciliatory...

the "tough break" was getting dis'd on her/his effort, and learning the hard way about the challenges and expectations regarding corpsing.

yikes.

i guess that's one of the problems with etalk; hard to get the tone.

aberling at April 10, 2006 10:51 AM

Yay! Can we light her socks on fire?

Miroje at April 10, 2006 11:52 AM

amen; let's torch 'em.

aberling at April 10, 2006 2:01 PM

sad, as corpses sometimes are.

unapologetic at April 10, 2006 4:19 PM

I wish Maggie would post here and describe her process, so that we can all make better corpses together. Please, Maggie, we need to understand.

This looks like a lot of new people's first pieces, and I can't really figure out what they are doing. My only guess is that they don't start with the strip incorporated with their piece: mayeb they're working with the strip open separately, and just "eyeballing" it? That's the only thing I can think of to explain the white bits. That doesn't explain the white line though, does it?

Two ideas:

1. Step by step tutorial somewhere (easy to find) on the site.
and/or
2. A mentor program, whereby new folks could run their first piece by some experienced type. I suppose people could do this already, but perhaps a more formalized affair could be set up. Not a requirement kind of thing, of course.

Other ideas?

doctormatt at April 10, 2006 7:13 PM

good ideas doctormatt

aberling at April 10, 2006 7:25 PM

all I can say is thanks crucibelle and doctor matt.
