What a wonderful corpse!! I love the sun/flower theme that is followed through to sunset along with the water reflections. And the face is awesome. The whole corpse works well!!
Great job!!

Wild........ at March 9, 2006 7:36 AM

oh wow. this is fantastic. I don't even know where to start with the praise. The color consistency really takes this one to another level. And there isnt a straight line in the piece - it's all liquid aboriginal gooey... beautiful. The baboon looms at his lagoon. Say that 3 times fast. Bang up job, all. Congratulations.

mattb at March 9, 2006 7:59 AM

au contraire there's one straight line and it's perfect, a wonderful example of a working visible seam because it marks the horizon. wow this is awesome, thanks everybody

burnunit at March 9, 2006 8:09 AM

Absolutely spectacular. Now here's a case where truly disparate elements are being unified into a whole few would imagine possible. Frankenstein being reprocessed by nature. Hats off to all four excellent contributions.

Cicada at March 9, 2006 8:16 AM

Excellent, excellent work. This is stunning.

Cohesive all the way through, beautiful imagery and use of color. Even the quirky title works well.

If you aren't dancing, you should be. Great job!

Miroje at March 9, 2006 9:20 AM

I think this is the best corpse I've participated in so far. I especially love the purple color down the middle.

I spent several hours on the transition and I did the best job I was capable of - looks like it came out nice.

It's a pleasure to corpse with you burnunit, cricket, and LucaJE.

Jim at March 9, 2006 9:26 AM

Brilliant! And well done to LucaJE. The temptation is to fill your section with as much as possible, but this corpse works well as the last section is so spare. Recent corpses have courted controversy over what is sometimes a lazy approach to some sections, but simplicity sometimes works, and we can see this in action here. really nice stuff!

slinkachu at March 9, 2006 9:43 AM

Wonderful! It flows, it speaks! i love it!

Zounds Padang at March 9, 2006 9:48 AM

awesome...just brilliant. i love the colors.

kvasir at March 9, 2006 10:09 AM

hooray!
i just questioned the status of this corpse yesterday.
arrows! the lines are ARROWS. i really wondered what they might be and i'm really appreciative that i may now rest my weary brain and stop trying to guess what the panel before me was.
burnunit, what a beautiful start.
Jim, the colors are amazing. Especially the purple. I was worried i wouldn't be able to continue the colors in an acceptable way. my panel isn't as smooth as the rest. I had a sort of disco/hippy feel on this one. ?
My goals were to continue the color all the way thru the panel and to not dismiss all those lovely lines Jim gave me. I think i did ok. I'm happy. LucaJE i LOVE what you did with my 15 pixels. I was hoping that half circle i left would somehow influence your design.
It is an honor to have corpsed with you burnunit, Jim and LucaJE.
Frankenstein at sunset. How awesome.
*sigh. ok, im through.

cricket at March 9, 2006 10:50 AM

Jim, I think your transition works wonderfully. It maintains the solar flair emanating from the flower and carries down to allow for a liquid sky to flow into an ocean of color.

It's...really, just a visual bounty.

I agree with burnunit too on the lower seam. It creates perspective, depth and I believe it would have changed the presentation considerably if it had been more discreet.

So excuse the stuttering, and allow me to say again:

Beautiful! Beautiful! Beautiful!

Miroje at March 9, 2006 10:55 AM

I'm so lame. I just realized that's Boris Karloff/Frankenstein.

I'm retracting the comment being quirky. The title fits perfectly.

Miroje at March 9, 2006 11:01 AM

whoa

moonroof at March 9, 2006 12:11 PM

OK, here's what I love about this corpse: look at the first panel, and the last. Somebody find me another corpse with such consistent colours!

No, wait, that's what I like about this corpse. What I *love* about this corpse is that it reminds me of driving to the beach with my Dad to take pictures of the setting sun on summer nights. Thanks, you guys. Made my day.

Patrick Beverley at March 9, 2006 1:13 PM

This is gorgeous.

Shae at March 9, 2006 3:28 PM

I agree with Patrick: the colors make this one. Very nice.

And I, too, love my memories of Frankenstein on the beach.

doctormatt at March 9, 2006 3:42 PM

the more i stare, the more Frankenstein looks like a Coneheads stepchild. does that even make sense? Pinhead maybe? Either way i like.
Frankenstein goes hand in hand with romantic walks on the beach and long talks about nothing. or something. ? maybe i should stop reading those personals on craigslist.org -but they are so darned entertaining!

cricket at March 9, 2006 4:19 PM

THIS is what I hang out here for!

Another one for the archives.

Thank you all for making my day.

FogBaron at March 9, 2006 7:03 PM

Yay!!!
What everybody said.
Oh! How We Thank Thee
Sweet Seemless Simplicity.

Colin Vincent at March 9, 2006 7:10 PM

Absolutely stunning! This is my new favorite! =)

Crucibelle at March 9, 2006 7:16 PM

Is it a new dawn for the animals, as that which is man-made sets with the sun
