Now how cool is that! I love it--the continuation of the bricks throughout, no visible seams, well constructed use of text, great colors, pisc/fish, etc. I could go on and on extolling the virtues of this particular corpse, but I'll leave that to others. GORGEOUS and fun!!!

murfinator at March 23, 2006 7:48 AM

BTW, I keep looking for a hidden message in the tiles. Is there one, or is that just wishful thinking on my part?

murfinator at March 23, 2006 7:51 AM

Brilliant! Love how the bricks feature throughout - my favorite corpses always carry one themes from one section to the next. And the way the 3rd section embraces this visual theme to use scrabble and mario is great too.

slinkachu at March 23, 2006 8:05 AM

Lovely. Complex, mysterious, well executed and very original (or at least original by my view).

And another debut with coal2k's piece.

Welcome, coal2k, and outstanding job on the close. More than any other, I think the final panel is the most difficult. You brought this corpse together and to closure quite nicely.

Err, and thank you, murfinator. I'll be idling away the entire day looking for the secret message now. ;)

Miroje at March 23, 2006 8:30 AM

Great!! I too think it's fantastic follow through with the bricks. Sort of has a Grecian mystical flow to me.
Murph.....I can't find the words either.

Wild........ at March 23, 2006 9:13 AM

"Just another brick in the wall..."

FogBaron at March 23, 2006 9:33 AM

Wonderful corpse! The tiles are stellar. As for hidden words... there's "Pisc", which is almost pisces, which would explain the fish (not that they need explaining, of course). Well done, everyone.

olaf at March 23, 2006 9:59 AM

Ooh... that turned out well!

Thankyou for the welcome, Miroje. I really enjoyed doing this corpse and look forward to doing many more, though the waiting for it to be posted nearly killed me. I'm so impatient.

Re the letters, perhaps it's a subliminal message: anagrams, anyone?

"Mickle Zulus sculpt epic human corpse clocks. Skip... skip..."

I did cheat slightly by leaving out a g, two p's and an s :P

Coal at March 23, 2006 9:59 AM

slick.

Zounds Padang at March 23, 2006 10:56 AM

Yeah, just brilliant. Love the statuary and columns, and the Botticelli tile work. Plus, I like any recovering Scottish goth who paints portraits of Robert Smith, automatic.

Cicada at March 23, 2006 11:06 AM

There's a bonus Upstart corpse in the Other Corpsing section of the forum today.

Cicada at March 23, 2006 11:12 AM

aberling: nice brickwork! Fantastic how you were able to colorize individual bricks to make up the whole image.

jakedrews at March 23, 2006 12:00 PM

Sorry, I'll shut up after this...
jake, that's a pretty interesting website on the EC phenomenon. I meant to just take a peak and read the thing from top to bottom. Very canny analysis. Personally, I'd grade this corpse the same but for somewhat different reasons...interesting...

Cicada at March 23, 2006 12:26 PM

omg.. I LOVE this corpse! Fantastic! =)

Crucibelle at March 23, 2006 1:25 PM

WOW. Now this is a gorgeous corpse. Kudos to all four players.

Kinda looks like one of those Adobe splash screens... only much cooler.

Shae at March 23, 2006 4:14 PM

"It says 'Romans Go Home!'"

"No, it doesn't!"

amyc at March 23, 2006 4:31 PM

Conjugate the verb!

Coal at March 24, 2006 6:11 AM

WOW with a capital OMG!!!! :)

MetalEar at March 24, 2006 9:59 AM

Romans, Botticelli's Venus, and somehow I get the Biblical story of the loaves and the fishes out of the base- maybe its the heavenly radiance/halitosis... and I'm not even Christian. Even the latin 'pisc' in the scrabble tiles-
no more coffee for me today.
A beautiful, thought-provoking and wonderfully blended effort- COOL!

AndyFromJava at March 24, 2006 7:22 PM

amyc - I'm glad somebody caught that!

jakedrews at March 24, 2006 8:39 PM

Just saw this today and wow this is awesome. I love how Mario just happens to be in the perfect spot...

Shell5058 at March 24, 2006 10:24 PM

another saver. I like this a whole bunch.
