Wow. I'm thinkin' I should have gone another way on this one...
Shelly at February 24, 2006 7:29 AM
no, you did well! i like how this one goes from Julen's very abstract to Shelly's more concrete... Interesting. I'm sure one of the corpse-poet-readers will have something good to say about this one.

Clean, well composed and very nice flow.
Shelly, I think the transition works. The color and "feel" certainly does.
Good work people, and welcome Maria P!
Though...I'm craving gin and garlic olives now...
Miroje at February 24, 2006 8:31 AM
Shelly yours pulls it all together and gives it the meaning of Olives. Could be a poster for an olive grower with the olilve tree represented at the top and following with the theme all the way through.Great!!

Maria, I really like your piece especially. I bet it looks great even by itself!
Jim at February 24, 2006 9:31 AM
These February corpses sure are fine. This is perfect. The transitions are so flawless you could easily take them for granted. Awesome work by all involved. The spilling/falling of elements throughout is really note-worthy. Alice's Adventures Under the Influence.

Beautiful and springy!

Okay, maybe I'm being too hard on myself (gee, what a surprise!) I *did* think the hat thing with the two women was kinda cool. I had no idea it was a woman from my 15px, though - I would have bet my firstborn that it was some kind of yellow flower (then I saw the bush to the left, and I was thinking it was some kind of garden scheme)
Anyway, I absolutely *love* the abstract of the top part of this...and the way it flows into the Asian theme right above mine is really cool. (I still think it would have looked better if I had stuck with the garden theme rather than going to martinis - I can't even remember *why* that popped into my head to put there!)
But glad you all like (my part) better than I do! :)
Shelly at February 24, 2006 2:46 PM
Oh no. Oh no.
The martinis are...mandatory. ;)
Miroje at February 24, 2006 2:56 PM
"...(I still think it would have looked better if I had stuck with the garden theme rather than going to martinis - I can't even remember *why* that popped into my head to put there!)..."
Why ask why? Martinis are their own justification.

Shelly- I think I am the one that took this corpse into some strange direction... i had a little bit of a red ball and a beige line so I took it as far as I could.... maybe too far :-) you did an awesome job bringing it all together... congrats everyone
Shell5058 at February 24, 2006 5:37 PM
Each direction adds a new dimension, Shelly.
Some weirdness may occur at the interface between one dimension and another. I am not suggesting such in this case...
cool and tight jazzing, all round.

"Why ask why?"
FB..
reminds me of the refrain in Bonnie Raitt's "Blue For no Reason", on her "Fundamental" album. mm..
Colin Vincent at February 24, 2006 7:42 PM
CV: I actually copped it from a old Bud Light commercial; but Bonnie truly did a better job with the line...
BTW, I love the Chinese lady sitting atop the martini glass, mimicking the Martini and Rossi girl. Amazing synchronicity.

"Come my love
Come bravely to me
Let your heart be still
For our time
Has come my tender one
To be free of will
And fly y y y
Blind on fearless love
Let them wild winds blow
We'll shi i i ine
On all we're FEARFUL of
Then we'll let go...
LET IT GO
Skippin' stones
Across the great unknown
Safe at water's edge
Don't look down, baby
We're gonna leave this losin' town
[and] leap out from the ledge
And fly y y y....."

Yeah, FB - Bonnie - nice job!
Fuckn Marvel, if you ask me.

Sorry to be late to these comments, but I went away for the weekend and being from Down Under, well...
This looks great, I'm chuffed with my first corpse. Well done everyone, we sure showed some weird ESP. Love the way the black abstract shape which in my piece was basically the trunk of a tree is growing out of or into a chicken. I LOVE chickens! see, ESP! Thanks also for the nice comments on my piece..just following the original which had lovely colour choices! Can't wait to get the next one.
MariaP at February 25, 2006 10:59 PM
