That's pretty close but not quite a FP.
murfinator at February 8, 2006 7:39 AM
not quite sure what i think of this one. I like the minimalism, but... herm.
Anyway, gneek, it's BEEF that's for dinner. Sharp line you got there. Blending's for the cows, right?
Zounds Padang at February 8, 2006 8:17 AM
I had forgotten I did this. I was really quite drunk at the time.
I think I'm going to take a break from the corpsing for a while.
Have fun.
Gstar at February 8, 2006 8:23 AM
Well, it had the beginnings of greatness...
Andrew at February 8, 2006 10:47 AM
Yeah... I've seen and participated in better.
I just wanna say for the record that Casey's slice was by far the most difficult I've ever followed, and I've followed some CRAZY stuff without flinching. It turns out that finishing a perspective drawing like that without having all the lines is crazy hard. That's partly why I went for the unfinished look.
I'm not complaining though. I enjoy a challenge.
Shae at February 8, 2006 12:41 PM
Well, you did a fantastic job with that transition, Shae.
The last piece is rather FP-ish. Gneekman, what happened?
doctormatt at February 8, 2006 1:17 PM
although the blending between panels three and four could have been smoother, i'm loving this corpse!
panel one rocks my world for some reason.
and of course panel four is just fabulous.

I don't think this qualifies as a Princely one. Because, while the seam isn't cleanly transitioned, neither does it appear that Gneekman simply went out and found a random image which was stuck, whole and unvarnished, into the midst of others' hard work. Also important, from what I can tell in his profile, it's Gneek's first corpse, hopefully our criticisms will be constructive to the point that it won't be his last...
It also looks like he may have drawn those lovely little meats by hand and I like, nay Love, the MEAT with stars. It takes me back to a sort of schoolhouse rock era.
On the good The top pieces are really well done and the through line of camera-bottom-cum-conveyer-belt is a great thought. Shae, I think you showed wisdom repeating that element at the bottom to give Gstar something cool to work with beyond just a vast blue void. It paid off, imho.
burnunit at February 9, 2006 9:59 AM
Shae: I passed this slice up after worrying over it for a week because I just did not have the time to figure out how to continue it properly. I'm stoked to see that you worked it out so brilliantly. I'm also glad to hear that I wasn't necessarily wussing out...it WAS hard, damn it!
The top third works as a corpse. The bottom...I don't know. I think calling a FP on it is a bit harsh, since there's at least some evidence of awareness of theme, but it also looks like a transition wasn't even attempted. And it's not like it would even have been a difficult transition; frankly, I think that's one of the easiest 15 pixel slices anyone could hope to get.
Learning curve and all, though. The actual content of the bottom portion is quite amusing. Gneek, I think you've got serious potential once you've warmed up to the game.
velocity girl at February 9, 2006 11:30 AM
I think this corpse looks awesome, the suspended architecture is amazing, and lets face it, meat is what's for dinner.
Cicada at February 9, 2006 11:51 AM
Thanks Velocity Girl! I'm also glad to know that *I* wasn't wussing out. It took me a long time to figure something out too, and I'm still not altogether happy with my wobbly lines. I know it doesn't necessarily look like the hardest slice ever, but you and I know better.
Shae at February 9, 2006 1:41 PM
Yeah, the last transition's not great, but the seam is not so jarring as to become the focus of the corpse. Piece 4 shows potential and artfulness and has been done with considerably more skill than my first corpse piece (I still thank my lucky stars my first corpse piece was a piece 1, or I would have utterly Princed it thanks to my complete lack of Photoshop skills).
Patrick Beverley at February 11, 2006 8:32 AM
Yay!!!
I'm with Pat... the 'my complete lack of of Photoshop skills' thing. "Fate" was kind to me also. I'm stil looking forward to the challenge of working from someone else's slice.
Congrat's to Shae and Gneek for obvious efforts to continue with the concepts they were given.
And, Gstar, being so drunk as to not remember, maybe shows real dedication to the subliminal.

Exquisite Corpsing.
I love the way the title runs. What a disaster!.. Oh well, let's lunch.
