Poor little bugger, all that goo dripping down on him. Reminds me of when I left my crayons in the back window of the car.

I don't think we give enough credit to those who show restraint, –this from one who struggles with restraint.
Kudos to Shae, your skill and restraint really makes this one elegant piece of drippy goo :-)
Hat's off to Ann and Yistergirl also! brilliant work, an honor to finish this one off!

Another exceptional corpse, and started with a debut (welcome Yister!).
Beautiful, and an outstanding title too.
Regarding Shae? I'm not sure if it's restraint. I've seen her busy. I've seen her sparse. But every time, I've seen her harmonious and flowing with the pixels that were delivered to her. She has great artistry and intuition. Big magic on her part.
Kudos to all of you!

Another nice one. Added connection for me because just last night I used a mouse over on SITO.org not as well Cristine though.

Yistergirl, my boyfriend insists that the negative space is DarthVader... correct?
Also, my apologies to three others, the goofy effect on the mortar was a layer I had accidently turned back on, it doesn't work and looks well, goofy!
Always maintain full authority over all layers!!!
cristine at January 18, 2006 10:59 AM
I think the layer works, Cristine...it has trace familiarity to Yistergirl's start and completes the circle.
Your piece is provoking, beautiful, and deserves to be absent of any apology.
Though...I do empathize on the runaway, rebellious layers!
Miroje at January 18, 2006 11:04 AM
Beautiful over all, but I think the transition to Panel 2 could have been smoother. Not sure what some of those colors are supposed to a continuation of; they just sort of appear...
That said, Ann, you're within your rights to ignore me.
Cheers.
FogBaron at January 18, 2006 12:28 PM
FogBaron, I was given a strip that had about 7 pixels on top that was different from the 8 pixels on the bottom, i.e., the "hard break" was already within the strip I was given; I didn't create it. I continued my strip from the bottom 8 pixels, abutting my pannel, not overlapping the previous pannel. I can send you the strip if you wish to examine it, or you can examine the finished corpse in Photoshop with Rulers on, and find pixels 185-200 to see what I was given.. Perhaps I should've ignored the bottom 7 or 8 pixels that hard-broke from the top part of it, in which case I would've had to have my panel overlap the top panel. But I chose not to do it that way, as I know how controversial that method is. Just examine the finished corpse in photoshop and see what I mean
Ann at January 18, 2006 12:52 PM
Now that I look at it, it looks like the ratio was actually more like- top pixels: 5, bottom pixels: 10. So for me to decide to smooth over the bottom 10 pixels and start working with the top 5 pixels would be even more ridiculous.
Essentially, whoever the 2nd panel would've been, they were set up from the start to look like they make bad seam. Not that I believe that yistergirl did that intentionally.
Ann at January 18, 2006 1:03 PM
this corpse is A-MA-ZING! the "goo" makes my mouth water. i have an affinity for goo. and frankly the hard seam after the top panel doesn't bother me a bit.
:)

Wow! Very nice! Kudos to my cohorts here. I'm very proud to be a part of this one.
Cristine and Mirojie: Many thanks for the nice compliments! I wish I could say I just knew that a restrained piece would do the trick here, but really... I wasn't sure what to do (blush). The fact that it works so well is an accident, as it often is.
Ann, I don't think the "seam" looks like a seam and I think your work looks great as always. This corpse is coherent... it looks like the goo flows over the edge and down the wall. I think it's very cool.
And yes, welcome Yister, and congrats on a successful and interesting slice.
Cristine, I wouldn't worry about the effect thingie. Your mouse makes the whole piece!
Shae at January 18, 2006 2:17 PM
I re-read my comment and feel I must clarify. I know that Ann wasn't responsible for the top "seam" or whatever. Just trying to say that I love Ann's work as always. I spose that Yister's seam might have been better blended but I still think the corpse looks great and it isn't a big deal.
Shae at January 18, 2006 2:27 PM
I love how ann made the colors bleed into paint. Nice way of dealing wiht lots of colors! And the wall going down is cool too! looks like a city scape over that wall- the top portion is covered in glass- thats why you see a reflection of a woman... okok whatever. its great!
cloud_eyora at January 18, 2006 10:34 PM
wonderful corpse. i love corpses that go all 3D like that. but, um, hello? people? forget the faux break!
THE TITLE IS AWESOME!!! AND MAKES SENSE! KIND OF!
I don't know about you guys, but possessed breast tapas would certainly have quite a way to slide before making it on MY food chain.
unapologetic at January 18, 2006 11:46 PM
My apologies to Ann.
FogBaron at January 19, 2006 10:22 AM
It's not a big deal, Fog...I knew I'd have to explain what gives re: the hard break at some time. In fact, if I wasn't the 2nd panel of this corpse myself, I'd be wondering too, although I'm of the opinion on this one that the break doesn't really detract from it, as the colors yistergirl used in the break are actually colors from the rest of her piece, just sort of flipped around.
Ann at January 19, 2006 10:43 AM
Oh there are comments here, yay I didn't know. Thanks for all the feedback! Yeah I guess it was a mistake with that bottom section I'm sorry if it detracted from my next in line's efforts to make smooth transitions. I was trying to show what colors were sneaking around up there. I like how it turned out! The negative space is your father ;) Mayhaps in the future I will try to exercise more restraint, I got a little over excited on lots of caffeine and little other creative outlet haha!
cheers
