looking gooood!
the cathedral continues nicely, from serene and divine to chaotic and demonic.
and the title is quite nice too

yeh, i like the cathedral theme... cards are looking a bit wierd, tho...
zounds Padang at January 30, 2006 7:51 AM
Again we see the body is a temple, but beauty is only skin deep...or something.
I like it. I think the wrong figure turns out to be a snake, however.
The mystical theme throughout is very strong.

See this is one of those cases where you can see the seam and I'm not bothered by it. I also feel like color matching the seams in such complicated situations can be very hard. In this case it looks like they did a fantastic job continuing the essence of the theme. I love how the cathedral "degenerated" into meat. Zounds, I don't have a problem with the cards myself, what was particularly disagreeable for you? If I may ask.

Bollocks.
I pooched the DPI again.

Wow, this is pretty darn cool! Nice debut from LucaJE!
Shae at January 30, 2006 11:25 AM
Wow. This came out really nice!
I wasn't sure if the small patterns of the Cathedral would work well to blend/transition into the next peace, but Miroje did a good job with that.
The religious theme binds it all, and the progression from grayscale to red and yellow monotone worked nicely.
The Governator is creepy, but he's always creepy. It's a good thing HE wasn't the one turning into a snake, because i don't think i'd ever have good dreams after seeing that.
Eeugh.
(Thanks Shae! :D)

I like the way it sort of turns into lava at the bottom. Kind of a contrast between the cathedral and hell. (Or is that a contrast?).

Burn:
nothing wrong with them. they just look like (or are. I am no expert) tarot cards, which i find to be a bit unsettling.
zounds Padang at January 31, 2006 9:20 PM
What is unsettling about tarot cards? At any rate, they are alchemical illustrations, allegorical in nature. Tarot cards may be a similar, or even the exact same thing. This is a surrealist's game, right? Why should any system of symbolism unsettle any of the players?
Cicada at January 31, 2006 11:13 PM
Wasn't part of the aim of the surrealists' game to be as 'unsettling' as possible?
Anyways Tarot was tapping the unconscious, way before they thought of it!
How unsettling is this... the collective unconscious reveals a great mystery:
Because Man empowers himself in the face of God, using a pick and mix approach to spiritual things -
"Babylon the Great has fallen, and she has become a dwelling place of demons... "

An Exquisite Corpse is a collaborative experiment in the creation of visual art through the tapping of the collective unconscious...
