....
well it's not what I expected.

You have to love how the skeleton of the second panel is repeated by the athlete in the fourth. It took me a few looks before I could make out the dog.
I like it. Daydreams and nightmares give way to sensory distortion and disintegration but it resolves itself into regimented order at the end. I think it's about growing up.

Cicada: You have marvelous perspective. I enjoy reading your commentary.

Thanks Miroje. I like talking art and I know of no other online communities where you can participate and talk about visual imagery, symbolism, et al. It's amazing to me that the corpses work much more frequently then not. I love this site.

Thats exactly why I'm interested cicada. I look forward to switching on and (9 times out of 10) getting a well produced, challenging image to talk about.
Oh, and nice transition between 1 and 2 fellers!

It's all good, though definitely four separate pieces. Really like doctormatt's contribution, and the title of his part is just as odd.

Not only did I get to start this off but it was my very first corpse assigned to me a few days after I registered.
I'm sorry about that funky little image I added to the bottom of my piece. I keep rereading the email about making the bottom 15px interesting.
Can't wait to do another.

I think this is a good reminder to be careful of strips you send: they shouldn't be too messy, or else someone might not know what to do with it except the "extend into the muck" maneuver.
"Didn't say banana?" is odd? What if I precede it with "Orange you glad I"?
doctormatt at December 16, 2005 1:22 AM
Yeah, revealing the other half of that pun really destroys the illusion... of bizarreness.

"The sepia-toned ghosts of dogs and the old baseball are like tactile childhood memories"
"the smoking woman in the bottom panel adds to the theme of corruption, Isis as femme fatale"
"Daydreams and nightmares give way to sensory distortion and disintegration but it resolves itself into regimented order at the end"
I vote Cicada becomes official Corpse Interpreter.

Those sentances do sound awfully silly when they're all laid out together like that. It's like I did he top three panels of a really bad, 100% text corpse. Really, I'm just full of it and not qualified or worthy to be the official corpse anything. I've only done three panels and only one has been submitted. More then anything I'm just a fan of you all.
Cicada at December 18, 2005 7:12 PM
They weren't meant to sound awfully silly - my reason for putting them together was that I thought they were the best bits.

The Corpse which can be interpreted is not the True Corpse.

An Exquisite Corpse is a collaborative experiment in the creation of visual art through the tapping of the collective unconscious...
