An Exquisite Corpse

This corpse feels like my childhood...though I really couldn't stand the Partridge Family. A singing family on a bus? Come on. Excellent corpse though, bravo.

Now I am *so* glad I went with my 3rd version. I thought the strip I got was the partridge family stuff - my first two original ideas were to have everything 70's I could cram into my little space (you should have seen it - Foxy Brown, Wonder Woman, "The Poseidon Adventure"...all that stuff.) Now I'm glad I didn't make it so busy and just stuck with Charlie's Angels. I still think my piece makes it look a little bottom-heavy, though - though *definitely* not as bad as if I had stuck with the original ideas.

And yes, it makes me think of my childhood, too. And I do like how it turned out!

I'm particularly fond of the stars breaking through the left border ... funny how much childhood is in this piece when nobody knew. Serendipity.

This corpse is very cool. I love how the colors and style made it all the way through. Wow.

cloud_eyora at July 19, 2005 8:29 AM

Wow! Retro pop culture everywhere. Very nice.

Slick. Consistent. Clean. I'm diggin' it!

FogBaron at July 19, 2005 9:01 AM

I'm diggin' the Lemonhead.

He seems to be sending out mind control rays. Luckily I'm wearing my aluminum foil hat.

LGM at July 19, 2005 9:22 AM

FOOL! Your aluminum foil is no match for the red-hot might of Mr. Lemonhead!

ivan at July 19, 2005 10:31 AM

Sweet! I'm so happy my headache-inducing color scheme made it all the way through to the bottom. I love it, the whole thing looks fab. Great job, everyone.

Phineas, is "corporate and/or primetime t.v. logos" on the (skull, eyeball, hand, Batboy) meme list yet?

Jessica at July 20, 2005 6:25 PM

I love that the color scheme led you all to the same decade. And those stars are gonna keep bugging me until I remember where I've seen them before.

Daniel at July 20, 2005 9:12 PM

Not necessarily, Jessica. I'm still waiting for a semiotics grad student to approach me about doing that Corpse content analysis thesis. When it happens I'll be sure to mention to the unfortunate soul to keep an eye out for teevee logos as well as everything else.

Phineas at July 20, 2005 9:57 PM

Daniel -

I bought them from istockphoto.com

:)

Otherwise - I chose them because they reminded me of "Wonder Woman"...

Shelly at July 21, 2005 7:49 PM

I'm sure I've seen those stars on a compilation album cover

wotty at July 22, 2005 12:54 AM

Fabulous - I love the consistency! Great job, all.
