I get the distinct impression that txteva needs glasses. Or maybe I'm the one, because all her slices look blurry. It seems she is flirting with the Prince (the fresh one, that is.)
murfinator at June 22, 2005 6:34 AM
whoa murf. it's not you, dear.
i do have corrected vision & all of her pieces look blurry to me, too.
hasfurrychildren at June 22, 2005 7:01 AM
If you read her statement, there might be an answer there. At least she is trying.
I love Caasper and I think the Old cartoon style is awesome. Love the pinks and yellows!
Wild...... at June 22, 2005 8:21 AM
This is a very upbeat and cheerful corpse...for a change.
(Maybe txteva should be known as "hasblurrychildren".)
FogBaron at June 22, 2005 8:28 AM
i've got to get me the casper songbook!!! the guitars are swwweeet. like how the blurry part gives some xtra depth. and how many times a day do i find myself demanding: 'spin me lady polka!' more than i care to count...!
fence at June 22, 2005 8:57 AM
LOL @ FogBaron !

[flirting with the Prince]
Uh? Care to explain?
I do actually wear glasses.
I like blurry...
txteva at June 22, 2005 10:38 AM
Cool title! I'm with you, FogBaron - upbeat and cheerful - a summery corpse...:)
Dax at June 22, 2005 12:37 PM
hmmm. the "fresh prince" refers to a slice which is a complete non-sequitur - in complete ignorance/defiance of the slice before it. It came from this corpse, from before The Great Hiatus: (http://anexquisitecorpse.net/crypt/2002/05/sacred_arrow_ra.php)
all of that being said, i fail to see how txteva is flirting with anything close to will-smithery. her slices all seem to recognize and to some extent continue their predecessors, albeit in her own blurry way. she's giving it her best shot, and improving, too!
i think if there's a lesson today it's that blurry is fine, just don't let your blur go all the way up to the transition, as it kills the seamlessness of the blend.
unapologetic at June 22, 2005 1:01 PM
Oh do stop whingeing, the lot of you. A little bit of blur never killed anyone.

Thanks for the link, (I remember it now from the rules link), unapologetic

Someone said this before (after I finished this one) but I've not been given any more corpse's to do yet so I've yet to put this to practice...
I don't see how mine is flirting with the Prince... I though it linked well following the tetris/guitar (to ice cream- I couldn't see what they were) and I followed the background on. My corpse's might not always flow the best, but I'm working on them and they seem to be getting better, *shrugs*.
txteva at June 22, 2005 1:29 PM
This has such a childlike and sunny disposition. Not something you see around here much, if at all. Maybe we should mark this day in An Exquisite Corpse history.
Miss Daze at June 22, 2005 2:44 PM
txteva: You done fine.
FogBaron at June 22, 2005 4:09 PM
I was a little disappointed with txteva's transition. Like her statement suggests, I think the ideas are solid but the execution leaves something to be desired. Txteva, keeping in mind your comments about the feedback you have received but been unable to implement, I think you're going to do just fine (as if anyone asked me) when your skills catch up with your vision.
I would personally love to receive the kind of strip that I handed off. The tiles would be easy to duplicate, while the guitar shapes are hard to identify but easy to work with.
I guess I was hoping to see some of those green tiles in the last section! Instead, my section is the one that looks out of place.
Oh, well. Next, please!
jazzgillum at June 22, 2005 5:02 PM
Cheers for all the tips people.
Less blur. More continuation. Better hints for next person. Right.
Shame I won't be able to do any more corpse til september- will be using net cafes rest of summer... unless I find one with some decent software....
txteva at June 22, 2005 5:25 PM
I would love to be handed the txteva strip to continue
the blur makes it easier to get a seamless transition
the blur also gives great depth to the 3rd section
maybe the white on the right could have been continued but that aside I like this corpse, it's summery
wotty at June 22, 2005 8:05 PM
hey txteva, we all crawl before we walk.
i, myself am now attempting to learn to run. i still stumble sometimes. then i get up, tend my wounds & move on.
if you're going to be offline mostly all summer... perhaps try corsping with yourself? put together an entire corpse yourself using the 15 pixels. if you would happen to do this, i'd be eager to see/hear about your results.
don't give up!!!
i can be a bit snotty sometimes about the results of this game. although i am becoming increasingly humbled by a few players here.
the bottom line, i am learning how to better play this game by observing & by participating.

Don't Corpse with yourself. You'll go blind.
Phineas at June 23, 2005 7:51 AM
Wow! This one is really beautiful.
Shae at June 23, 2005 8:17 AM
"Oh, go Corpse yourself!"
