...and sometimes more is more. I like the less cluttered corpse but I love those that make me wonder. When the continuity is this good it's like watching a movie trailer.

So *that's* what that was! I had a feeling there were trees and cables in there, but go figure about the planetoid and contrails. Nifty.

though i wish i had made the fish baby alien thing transition smoother. any suggestions? this is sort of photoshop boot camp for me.

I think the fish would have matched the alien better if you'd flipped it and stripped the dorsal and ventral fins off. The alien progresses from light on the right to dark on the left and the fish could do the same if mirrored. Desatuarting the fish body would have matched the grey tones of the alien, and as for the rest of the slice, no need to comment, its a good match.
