Oh, I get it:
Somebody in that board meeting was daydreaming about a childhood spent playing with dolls while listening to the Beatles, and eating at Red Lobster after baseball games. Makes perfect sense.

I want to like this one, but it's too busy, and I can see the breaks between panels too easily. Sometimes it appears there are breaks inside panels ("time is too important" and "Daryl Strawberry was" are examples). I do like how it starts with black & white then gets more and more colorful until the bottom panel which becomes blackness coupled with bright colors. In a way there it's almost a flow match. There is a lot of fun eye candy throughout, but each separate piece is doing too much. It's too bold overall, and doesn't allow anything to potentially flow.

In my first attempt at playing this game, my submission was way too busy. Since then I've learned that less is more, because that's what I like to see in other people's pieces. This is all just a matter of opinion or course. I could be wrong. I don't wish to make anyone hate me and I apologize if I'm being too critical. I'm just tossing my two cents into the ring.

Oh, I love it.

And, I disagree with ZachsMind: not only is less not more,
it's also less. More is more.

More more more more more.

More!

Beautiful bottom panel . . .

That said, am I alone in thinking that text adds almost nothing to a corpse? I want to see the interplay of imagry, not a bunch of fractured text.

I say this in response to a general trend here at EC, not so much as a reaction to this specific corpse.

i agree...i don't like seeing text on the ECs...just seems to clutter up the corpse. i could care less what things are said....
it might be cool if the word was used as an image.
i'm not sure if that makes any sense to you all....
but anyways...

I see your point, Aladfar, in this particular Corpse the text works more as a graphical element than as text per se...except for the Beatles quote dead smack in the center.

That said, I certainly wouldn't say "No text in Corpses." As we've all generally agreed, anything goes, and that includes a few choice words now and then.

I'm all for diversity of corpse.

Show me corpses with text;

show me corpses without text;

show me simple imagery;

show me clutter.

Just have fun and keep up the good corpsing.
