Well, shoot, that didn't work at all. I was trying to give Charles just a bit of stuff to work with, so he could concentrate on trying to continue the shape. Instead, it looks like he just slapped some random shapes up against the guy's legs, and continued on as best he could.
Charles, did you have too much difficulty trying to continue the piece that you got? Or did you just feel like continuing the piece in a sort of abstract way?
Apart from that, I think the connecting went well. I note with some pride that I connected the bottoms of Heather's purple swirls almost exactly. And is that Eilert Pilarm in the bottom there?

Talk about surreal: Jakob's Usability Corollary to Darwinism.
It could only be improved by having the koala's sharp teeth latched to Jakob's neck.

I'm thinking words like "trippy" and "retro". Very clearly defined lines and a bit of evolutionary commentary to boot. Well done all.

Ah I think the abrupt transition was my fault. These aren't always coming out in order - I think this is one of the early ones (#4 maybe?) In the more recent ones, I've taken the strip and incorporated it for a smoother "joining." Also I've gone back and refered to the strip, instead of just slapping it down and going with it. I think we've gotten better as we've gone along in the later pieces. But technicality aside, this isn't bad for an early effort. I guess my idea for the section I did was something along the lines of the angel vs. technology, or human vs. machine. So in a way, the abrupt transition from his legs swallowed and refracted into the industrial fabric is interesting. Probably not the best corpse in terms of technique, but thanks to Dave it has Jakob with a koala. That counts for bonus points.

yeah, I think 'trippy' when I look at this corpse, what with the butterflies and the retro-line-drawing and everything (Jima, you *should* be proud of your purple scroll matches!). I nearly forgot I'd started a corpse, so it was like opening a christmas present to see what this piece would look like. I agree that this corpse isn't as stream-of-consciousness, coherent, or magic as the more recent offerings, but at the same time, I really loved starting one from scratch and seeing how it grew and changed.
for the record, the naked woman at the top of the corpse is, for all intents and purposes, barren. poor usabliity?

Is that koala head...smoldering?
Yes, it's less cohesive than some of the more recent corpses, but probably the most DaDa-istic of the corpses so far, and that's saying something.
Transitions come and transitions go, but one thing stays the same: bizarre imagery.

I needed a lift today and this light-hearted, naive, fun, bright little ditty did the trick. I especially enjoyed the way it appears as though these silly things are popping out of Jason's thoughts. He's spouting babble while contemplating bears, bubbles, Bjork, base playing, basketball, butterfilies and babes. Bravo!

Oops, meant to say Jakob, not Jason. Carry on.
